Open standards over closed systems
Every framework, every control, every cross-mapping is built on open, recognised standards. No proprietary black boxes. No hidden logic.
25 years. Global vendors. The same pattern, repeated. We decided to build something different.
After 25 years working across global security vendors — from large public companies to venture-funded startups — the same pattern kept repeating. Half-baked solutions, made deliberately complex to obscure what they could not actually do. Months to deploy. Longer still before they produced anything meaningful. And then — expensive professional services to customise what should have been in the product, or managed contracts to operate what customers were sold as self-service.
786 Cyber was built in direct response to that experience. An ecosystem grounded in open standards, genuine expertise, and a belief that every organisation — regardless of size, sector, or budget — deserves real protection. Not compliance theatre. Not fear-based tooling. Not dependency by design.
The goal is an organisation that owns its security programme, understands its posture, and can prove it — without needing a specialist team or a vendor-managed service to keep it running.
Every framework, every control, every cross-mapping is built on open, recognised standards. No proprietary black boxes. No hidden logic.
The measure of the ecosystem is not the number of features. It is whether your organisation is genuinely more secure, more resilient, and more trusted.
The goal is an organisation that owns its security programme — not one that depends on a vendor to operate it. We build your capability, then get out of the way.
We are a small, focused team building something ambitious. If you want to work on a problem that matters — and you are tired of the same patterns we were — we would like to hear from you.
