Your first-run journey

This page walks you through your first session with 786 Cyber: from signing up to producing something you can act on and share. The whole journey is sign up → trial → assess → remediate → report.

Choose Start free trial on the marketing site and complete the short flow: mobile number (OTP) → email verification → your details and company. No credit card. Google and Microsoft (M365) sign-in are also available — both still need the phone step the first time.

→ Full detail: Getting started.

A 14-day free trial starts automatically. You land on your Dashboard. At first the snapshot indicators will mostly read “Set up” — that’s expected; they fill in as you connect data and run checks.

Two things happen early:

  • External monitoring runs automatically at onboarding — exposed services, look-alike domains, domain reputation, credential breaches, and new subdomains. See Assets & Threats.
  • Run your first compliance assessment. Open Compliance, pick a framework (Cyber Essentials is a good starting point for UK SMEs), and answer the wizard. You’ll get a Compliance score and a gap analysis.

Connect your people and assets too — import from Microsoft 365 / Google or CSV — so the dashboard reflects your real environment (People directory, Assets).

Head to Act on this on the Dashboard. It’s your prioritised to-do list: critical and high vulnerabilities, failed scans, and open compliance controls — each linking straight to where you fix it. Vulnerabilities are ranked by real exploitability, so you spend effort where it counts.

While you’re here, generate the policies you’re missing with the Policy Generator — they’re audit-ready and tailored to your organisation.

As you close gaps, your scores move and your Compliance Vault keeps the record. Use it to show progress to leadership, auditors, or customers.
